Brancolini Grimaldi Arte Contemporanea, with locations in Rome and Florence, presents a program dedicated exclusively to contemporary photography and video. The only gallery in Italy to have such a focus, Brancolini Grimaldi represents several of the most important Italian photographers, such us Massimo Vitali and Olivo Barbieri. The gallery also works with important international artists, including Mitch Epstein, Larry Sultan, and Andrea Fraser, who presented a new project in Rome in October 2005, commissioned by the gallery. The gallery is dedicated to producing and commissioning new works as evidenced by Fraser's video work in the Vatican Museums and the 35mm film "Site Specific_Las Vegas 05" by Olivo Barbieri, which has been shown at the most important Film Festivals around the world and was just presented at the Sundance Film Festival 2006.
The focus on new emerging art trends in Europe and around the world is an integral component of the gallery's approach. In February 2006, the gallery showed a selection of emerging African artists, which resulted from a long research trip through the continent.
The gallery partecipates in many international art fairs, including Paris Photo, Photo London, DFoto in San Sebastian (Spain), Arco Madrid, and Artefiera Bologna Italy.
